Emily M Gilmette, DVM

Emily grew up in Morehead City, North Carolina, riding horses, running track/cross country, playing on the water, and spending as much time as possible outdoors. She attended, what is now, William Peace University for her undergraduate course work, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Followed by, Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine for veterinary school, graduating in 2007 Suma Cum Laude. Emily, then, moved to New Bern after and married her husband, Brian Gilmette. At that same time, she began working for another mobile equine veterinary practice in the area. In 2009 she opened Eastern Equine Associates Mobile Veterinary Service, and has been striving to practice the highest quality mobile veterinary medicine ever since. She has a special interest in equine podiatry, equine dentistry, and ambulatory surgery. She spends her free time riding her horse, paddle boarding, and spending time with her husband and dogs.

Dr. Nagle grew up in Attleboro, Massachusetts playing softball and riding horses, all the while she knew her dream was veterinary school. In 2013, she completed two Bachelors degrees in Biology and Equine Business Management through Post University in Waterbury, CT. In 2018, she received her DVM degree from Ross University, and completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University. Following graduation, she completed a year-long Equine Medicine and Surgery internship at Oklahoma State University. Stephanie Hill, Practice Manager

Stephanie grew up in Florida riding and showing horses since the age of four. After graduating high school, she attended Florida State University and Northwest Florida State College majoring in accounting. In 2010 she met her husband Mike, who is active duty in the United States Marine Corps. The military then moved them from Florida to North Carolina after Mike completed specialty training. Once in North Carolina, she became a licensed insurance agent working for Nationwide and State Farm. In September of 2015 Stephanie left the insurance world to become the office manager for Eastern Equine Associates and has not looked back. In her spare-time she trains and actively competes on her horses. She also loves spending time with her husband, five dogs, three cats, three horses, and one wonderful donkey. She lives a very busy life but would not change a thing about it!

Heather Rentz, Vet Assistant

Heather grew up in Parma, Ohio. At a young age, she had a passion for animals, volunteering at a local historical farm, attending 4-H meetings, and working at a neighborhood pet store. Even though she loved animals, life took her down a different path, joining the Marine Corps. While in the Corps, she met her husband, Jarrett Rentz. The Marines instilled in her values she would use for the rest of her life, and she soon realized she still had a desire to help animals. When her term in the Marine Corps was up, she attended Craven Community College, received a Veterinary Assistant Certificate, and was hired by Dr. Gilmette in 2007...
